- Unit Notes:**Medical Solutions auto deducts the 1.75 WA state tax - you are able re-add that back in.** Profile Review - Manager will conduct phone interview with traveler **Traveler MUST be competent in couplet care in Post partum & can attend Deliveries** Unit NICU/ Special Care Nursery Level of NICU Level II # Beds 10 Nurse: Patient Ratios 1:1-3 depending on acuity Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, NRP, STABLE Common diagnoses/Types of patients Specialized care for babies born with low birth weight, prematurity, & those recovering from serious conditions: respiratory conditions, hemodynamic issues, Bubble Cpap, tube feeds, feeders & growers, substance abuse babies. Below 32 weeks would stabilize & transfer. No surgeries, no ECMO. Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have experience with Level II NICU experience Must be experienced with stabilization / attending high and low risk deliveries and transitioning newborns; we are able to accommodate a noc nursery candidate that does not do postpartum. Candidate would need to be able to attend both high and low risk deliveries and care for neonates in the nursery Must be experienced with postpartum couplet care to include experience with well newborns, and maternal care; Must be able to attend high and low risk deliveries and transition both high and low risk infants. Postpartum experience preferred , but would consider NICU candidate that has experience in level 2 SCN and attend deliveries even if no PP experience. Must have 2 years of experience, will consider someone with 1 year of experience if they have multiple prior travel experience Common titratable &/or set rate drips Typical drips, TPN, lipids Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? None Neonatologist in house 24/7? NNP (Neonatal Nurse Practitioner 24/7) RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? Vents, bubble Cpap, high flow - RT in house 24/7 -- Must have experience with these Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Have tele Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 12Hr shifts, 7a-730p/7p-730a. Flexibility with scheduling as long as it meets the needs of the department. Weekend Requirement Every other. Days - Sat & Sun, Nights - Fri & Sat Holiday Requirement Rotate in with perm staff Is there Call or a Standby requirement? No Floating Requirements May float to Mother Baby Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided? Scrubs provided Unit/Department specific orientation An 8Hr day for compliance with manager. An 8Hr Epic class. 2-3 12Hr shifts for unit specific orientation Additional Notes - The manager is friendly and does provide feedback to travelers as she believes in ensuring ALL staff are providing quality work. She is asking travelers to be open and adaptable to their workflows, policies & procedures, and feedback.
