- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2-3 years of MS (Medical-Surgical) experience required 2. Cases: Medical and surgical patients from general or family medicine service lines with variety of diagnoses 3. Certifications: BLS required 4. License: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License required; SC license prioritized 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC charting system experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12hr rotating shifts, 7p-730a/7a-730p depending on unit needs with holiday rotation; weekend required every other week 8. RTO: RTO due at time of submission; auto offers allowed for 7 days or less non-holiday RTO; 7+ days and/or holidays require facility approval 9. Returning Staff: Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated from MUSC system for 1 year before returning as traveler 10. Travel/Local: 60-mile radius; locals accepted case-by-case at 10% less than posted bill rate; non-locals prioritized 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 4 hours average, non-billable, included in NBO hours, completed pre-start 13. Travel Experience: Not required 14. Scrubs: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal blue bottoms for all RNs 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Accessing/Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, PCA, telemetry monitoring, wound vac among others Critical: Hurricane season assignment to emergency response teams (June-November). Patient ratios 1:4-5. Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. Float within scope required. 24 orientation hours.
