- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of med surg experience required; stepdown/PCU experience required 2. Cases: Medical diagnoses including stroke, hyperglycemia, CP, AMS, renal failure, afib 3. Certifications: BCLS, NIHSS required; AHA only 4. License: SC licensed required; valid state license required with submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Meditech; experience preferred but not required for most positions; required for RRT 7. Shifts/Call: Weekdays, every other weekend, float, holidays as needed; 1:5/1:6 ratios; weekend coverage required 8. RTO: Must be approved prior to assignment start; minimal to no RTO; preferably no RTO in first weeks 9. Returning Staff: Must be gone 1 year and in good standing at time of departure 10. Travel/Local: 50 mile radius restriction; local candidates not accepted 11. Background: Facility will not accept any license or background hits 12. Modules: Non-billable, average 8 hours; completed pre-start or during orientation; self-reported 13. Travel Experience: First time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed 16. Special Equipment: Teleneuro cart Critical: High patient ratios and lots of floating within hospital; stroke unit and pediatrics; orientation 24 hours.
