- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience required with demonstrated competency in both areas 2. Cases: High risk OB patients, multiples, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, high risk cardiac patients, high risk postpartum, Bakri Balloon, insulin drip, mag, high risk newborns, late preterm infants, drug exposed newborns, hypoglycemia management of the newborn 3. Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP, BSN, AWHONN CERT Renewal every 2 years required 4. License: Must have active CA state license upon submission 5. Education: BSN required 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Must be available to work one additional OT shift per 2 weeks (7 shifts total); may be placed on call; 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks or every other weekend 8. RTO: 7 days of RTO, screenshot upon submission, no RTO in the first 2 weeks; one pre-approved time off allowed 9. Returning Staff: Must be gone 1 year to return as traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at same rate; candidates will float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals near based on census and unit requirements 11. Background: License hits or background hits to be provided upon submission to send for UCSD HR approval 12. Modules: Non-billable, up to 8 hours of modules factored into 12 hours NBO; completed during orientation and annually 13. Travel Experience: Yes, travel experience required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Perinatal Float Pool requiring cross-training and rotation among all three perinatal units (JMC L&D, JMC Postpartum, Hillcrest LDRP) Critical: Floating is mandatory between campuses and units. COVID-19 vaccine required plus booster. Two manager references required.
