- Unit Notes:- Hiring Process: Candidate Interview: Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement - Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted - Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely Unit L&D/PP/MB - SEH # L&D Beds 4 LDRP # OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections? 1 # Triage beds 2 # Postpartum beds 3 # Births per day? Month? Year? 0-2 per day, about 200 per year Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? As much as possible for a rural hospital Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) ALS, NRP, AWHONN EFM Common diagnoses/Types of patients Pregnant women, newborns, gyn surgical Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have 1 year of L&D experience and be trained in LDRP Must be able to triage and function as the baby catcher/transition nurse Candidates do not need to be able to circulate C-sections or manage post op GYN patients Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips Pitocin Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes, charge nurse is one of two nurses on shift Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? No OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? OBs are not in house, they have a 20 minute response time. On-call after hours and they don't typically stay unless there is concern with an active labor Anesthesia in house 24/7? anesthesia is in house regular business hours and on-call after hours, with a 20 min response time RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) We ask RT to come to deliveries but they are short staffed and there is not always an RT on, but in lieu of RT the peds on call can attend deliveries Bubble CPAP, CPAP, NC Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? NA EFM System OBIX Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 6p-6a, some self scheduling but may be moved for unit needs Weekend Requirements Half of all weekends (F,S,S) Holiday Requirements Yes, half of winter holidays Is there a call or standby requirement? no Floating Requirements? helping hands to medsurg (rare) Scrub Color/Dress code Scrubs are not provided; no color requirement.
