- Unit Notes:*NEED 4TH OF JULY COVERAGE** Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. Weekends are Saturday and Sunday Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Wednesdays during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * ****will not approve blocked scheduling unless it's weekends only, I can ask. They also will not take duos that want same schedule or share car. if they are placed on call and then called back in they have 30 minutes to arrive Department: ICU RN *Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS* - # of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, Adults sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation Nurse Aides: yes- based on census, will sit in 1:1s or assist on the floor as needed based on volume, Healthcare Support tech 3 days per week (M-F) 0800-1630 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1830, 1830-0630 // Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling Monitors/Tele: yes, RNs are required to read/interpret/document strips, monitor brand is GE, tele tech oversight of monitors as well Floating: Typically PCU, occasionally MedSurg- will take same ratio of patients typically assigned on these units (1:4 or 1:5) Holiday requirements: minimum of 2 holidays that fall within contract time frame - Weekend Requirements: Every other - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 shift RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
