- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 3 years required; 18 months general experience required 2. Cases: Neuro critical care unit, medical, surgical and trauma ICU patients 3. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS required (NIHSS must be in hand) 4. License: IN/Compact license must be in hand prior to start date or fingerprint application submitted; university must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: No specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Must work 50% of weekends in contract; call-ins must be made up or added to end of contract 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: PERM or PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated breaks 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local and NOT accepted for this position; out-of-state residents require 3-month break, in-state require 6-month break 11.
