- Unit Notes:Med Sol prescreens need 2 sup refs (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered. ***PRIOR TO SIGNING THE CONTRACT, THE DYS EXAM THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED AND MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS. IT S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET 2 ATTEMPTS TO SCORE 80%. A SCREENSHOT SHOWING THE NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IS REQUIRED. ***If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for CommonSpirit AZ and Sac - Unit: Neuro ICU - McAuley ICU - # beds: 20 - Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. 2 years in Neuro ICU preferred. - Ratios: 1:1 - 2 - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief. - Nurse Aides: Yes as Safety Attendants (sitters) - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holidays: Rotate in with core staff - Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy. - Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. - Vents: Yes - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist - IV Team: No - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes and ICU Pharmacy open during dayshift. - Shifts: 12 hr shifts. Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available. - Floating: First to Float to sister facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. - Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor. - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, craniotomies, neuro interventional radiology, ventriculostomies. Line insertions are common. - Additional Notes: Strong Stroke Program and Neuro Center. Newer, state of the art unit.
