- Unit Notes: - Unit: OR - # beds: 4 beds in main OR and 8 beds in the pavilion - Certs: BLS - Ratios: 1:1 (nurses circulate--if can scrub that is a plus but not required) - EMR: Cerner Surginet - Charge Nurse: Yes--does not take patients/cases - Scrub techs: do use - Weekend Requirement: not required - Holidays: covered by call - Scrub Color: Provided by hospital - Call: 1 shift per week, every 4th weekend - Shifts: variable starts 6am-9am w/call; no evenings, no weekends - Floating: Not required - Floor specific orientation: 1 week of paperwork orientation and one week partnered up with a preceptor - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Main OR-Mostly ortho cases such as all totals (hips, knees, joints); Pavilion-neuro and ortho spine, CV cases (specific team works these), general, gynecology, urology, ENT - Additional Notes: 15-25 cases per day; 400 per month; 20-25% of cases are inpatient; only do CV cases or robotic cases if experience with these; must have at least 2 years OR experience; very particular processes in the OR suites here; really prefer nurses w/ Cerner Surginet experience; anesthesia all done by anesthesiologists (no CRNAs); critical patients go directly to ICU from the OR (Prefer 26 week contracts) Cancellation Policy:Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13 week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks Charting System:Cerner BSN Required:False License to Submit:No Trauma Level: Care Setting:Acute Division:Allied Shift Notes:10 hour days Required Certifications:BLS Certification, COVID Vaccine Required (Certification)
