- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required in specialty; first-timers accepted 2. Cases: Required — Cardiac surgery (CABG on/off pump, AVR, MVRR, TVRR, Aortic aneurysm/dissection, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive valve replacement, trans-catheter mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacement); Vascular surgery (AAA, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm including fenestrated grafts, endarterectomy, bypass for peripheral artery disease, amputation, ECMO decannulation and repositioning, LEAD Extraction); also required: Atrial Septal Defect repair, Carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft, Mitral Valve Replacement, Pericardial Window, TAVR, TEVAR, VAD, ECMO. Preferred — General, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Thoracic, Bariatrics, Transplant 3. Certifications: BLS required; NBSTSA or NCCT required; copies of all certifications including Nursys or Allied License verifications required at time of submission; must be in hand 4. License: MN license preferred in hand; if not, traveler must apply through Aya project at time offer is accepted; pending state license not accepted; Nursys verification required at submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic/Excellian required for this position; onsite Epic/Excellian classes are billable 7. Shifts/Call: Shifts — 06:45-15:15, 09:30-18:00, 14:45-23:15; on-call required — up to 2 weekends per month, up to 2 weekdays per week, holiday call if needed; guaranteed 40 hours; will not float within scope or to sister facilities 8. RTO: No more than 5 days; Date of Birth, SSN, and RTO must be included in initial submission; any vacation plans between sign date and start date must be communicated to Account Manager at time of submission 9. Returning Staff: Traveler must be gone 3 months from last shift worked as Perm (Staff or Per Diem); Allina does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or if previously worked as perm employee 10. Travel/Local: 100-mile radius enforced — candidates less than 100 miles from facility will be redirected; no local exceptions for this position (Radiology-only exception does not apply) 11. Background: Cannot proceed if there is an open case; all hits reviewed during compliance process and cannot be screened prior to signing; fingerprinting required — LiveScan prints required, only 25 states outside MN can perform LiveScan; results can take 1 day to 3-4 weeks; candidates will not be cleared to start without fingerprint results on file; Minnesota state requirement with no exceptions 12. Modules: Pre-start modules required; average 8 hours; travelers receive $150 stipend for completing pre-start modules; all onsite modules (Excellian/Epic classes) are billable; recorded by transcripts; compliance document deadline is the Monday prior to start 13.
