- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required in specialty; heart and lung transplant experience required (screen if limited); LVAD and robotic thoracic experience noted 2. Cases: Heart and lung transplants required; LVAD; Robot Thoracic; Trauma; Level II experience required; Level I experience preferred 3. Certifications: BLS required (AHA or Red Cross not specified); CST (Certified Surgical Technician) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting preferred; Surgical Technologist/Technician competency exam required; CORE exams allied required; Skills checklist must be submitted 4. License: Compact or KY State License required at time of submission; University of Kentucky will NOT accept any licensure hits — submission will be rejected 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Not specified 7. Shifts/Call: Call required — 1 weekday per week and 1 full weekend per 4 weeks; candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby; orientation is 40 hours 8.
