- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required; 18 months experience required per general policy 2. Cases: Level 1 Trauma Center, Vascular, Thoracic surgery cases including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Atherectomy, Atrial Septal defect repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Carotid Endarterectomy, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, EVAR, Femoral popliteal bypass graft, Laparoscopic Cardiac Surgery, Mitral valve replacement, Pericardial window, Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery, TAVR, TEVAR, VAD, Heart & Lung Transplant, Valve Replacement, and Aortic Dissection 3. Certifications: BCLS and NBSTSA required 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications submitted; IN RNs not allowed except Periop/OR RNs, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: No specific charting required for any IU health positions; charting system experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s, 6:30-19:00; 90-120 hours of call in 6 week schedule 8. RTO: Can auto-approve 5 days of non-holiday RTO or less; anything more requires facility approval; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN employee of IU must be away for 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated breaks after 12 months of travel employment 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; surgical services positions accept local travelers at lower rate; 100% floating required within hospital or to affiliate hospitals 11. Background: Must be noted prior to submission to seek approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Not specified 13.
