Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required; 18 months required per general policy 2. Cases: Level 1 Trauma Center, Vascular, Thoracic surgery cases including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Atherectomy, Atrial Septal defect repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Carotid Endarterectomy, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, EVAR, Femoral popliteal bypass graft, Laparoscopic Cardiac Surgery, Mitral valve replacement, Pericardial window, Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery, TAVR, TEVAR, VAD, Heart & Lung Transplant, Valve Replacement, and Aortic Dissection 3. Certifications: BCLS and NBSTSA required 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent applications submitted; IN RN licenses not allowed (except Periop/OR RN positions exempt) 5. Education: Travelers University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at graduation 6. EMR: No specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: 4x10 shifts 11:00-21:30; 90-120 hours call in 6 week schedule 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Former IU employees must be away 12 months; consecutive contract policy requires breaks after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; surgical services accept locals at lower rate; floating 100% required 11. Background: Policy noted prior to submission for approval 12.
