- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required; first timers not accepted; prior pediatric and inpatient experience preferred 2. Cases: Required: acute disorder, chronic disorder, functional activities, standardized assessments, developmental testing/treatment, mental retardation. Preferred: national patient safety goals/core measures, billing, feeding techniques (oral/motor), disability sequence test. Must have ability to transition from inpatient to outpatient and LTC. Largely outpatient pediatric population; department also serves inpatient, swing bed, and LTC 3. Certifications: BLS required; copies of certifications required at submission 4. License: Valid state license required; pending license accepted (takes 10-12 weeks) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred; specific charting experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 5x8 Days; no on-call required; guaranteed 72 hours per 2-week period; traveler can be called off for 1 eight-hour shift per 2 weeks; block schedule accommodated; traveler must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year 8. RTO: Must be included at time of submission; approved on an individual basis upon offer; one pre-approved time off noted 9. Returning Staff: Permanent staff must be separated from Providence for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler; travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year, then must take a minimum 6-month break before returning to the same facility 10. Travel/Local: No locals accepted; 50-mile radius rule applies; can only submit to 1 location within the region (PAMC, Seward, Valdez, Saint Elias Specialty Hospital, and Kodiak); if traveler accepts hospital-provided housing or rental car, they are not eligible for housing or rental car stipends 11.
