- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of surgical unit experience required 2. Cases: Wide range of surgical and trauma diagnoses including Cellulitis, Appendicitis, Cholecystitis, Diverticulitis, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Gun Shots, Stabbings, Falls, Various Cancers, Kidney Stones, Bowel Obstruction, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Limb Ischemia, Hernia, Gangrene; procedures include Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Hernia Repair, TURP, Ostomy Creation or Closure, Wound Debridement, Tumor Removal, Kidney Stone Removal, Amputations, Fem Pop Bypass 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIPH required; must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic (documented in charting system) 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights; 36 or 48 hours accepted; if 48, OT not billed until after 48 hours; float to like units when needed; every other weekend required; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days for AYA Auto Offer; RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call offs or additional RTO could result in cancellation and DNR 9. Contract staff must be prepared to work Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events. Strong teamwork approach and adherence to Novant behavioral expectations required.
