- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year required; 1st-time travelers not accepted. Previous Charge Experience preferred. Prior travel experience required. 2. Cases: Overflow IMCU; Arrhythmia management; Cardioversion; Cardiac CHF; Chest pain; Renal; Pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT); Cardiac Arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia); Surgical (cholecystectomy, appy's, chest tubes, biliary drains); Occasional vascular patients; Post Cardiac Cath; TR Bands; DKA; Occasional Ortho or CVA patient overflow; DKA; Med/Surg umbrella skills required. 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIHSS required. Must be AHA or American Red Cross (standard compliance). Telemetry competency exam required. 4. License: Not specified. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic preferred; Pyxis, SBAR also used. Charting system experience preferred. 7. Shifts/Call: Call is rare; response time is 2 hours. Travelers typically do not manage Precedex (core staff only). Weekends typically every other weekend; perm staff scheduled first, travelers fill gaps. Float required within facility/scope of practice. Scheduling type: Other. Day/Night ratio 1:5; Weekend ratio 1:6. 8. RTO: Maximum of 7 days per contract. One pre-approved time off noted. Holiday policy: If one major holiday falls within assignment, traveler works it. If two fall within assignment, traveler works both. If three fall within assignment, traveler works two. Critical: HARD STOP — Must have experience managing continuous IV medications including Cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), Diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), Anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and Insulin drips. Basic arrhythmia knowledge, hemodynamic monitoring, and care of post-PCI patients are required. Prior travel experience and drip management experience must be confirmed upon submission. Candidate will be reviewed clinically for fit; if approved, sent to manager for final decision. Clinical screens sent on a case-by-case basis.
