- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required for submission 2. Cases: Complex care unit for Medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients; diagnoses include orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and complex medical patients 3. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; valid NIHSS must be included at submittal 4. License: NY RN License required and must be in hand at time of submission — no exceptions 5. Education: Foreign education must be flagged to the account manager at time of submittal for verification 6. EMR: Epic experience is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Day/Night rotation (0700-1900 / 1900-0700); every other weekend required; floating required 8. RTO: Cannot submit anyone with more than 10 days of RTO 9. Returning Staff: 1-year return staff policy applies 10. Travel/Local: Candidates within 75 miles of facility are not accepted; must be more than 75-mile radius 11. Background: Reviewed on a case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Billable up to 5 hours; total module time may reach 10 hours; any time beyond 5 hours is non-billable; completed pre-start and vary by specialty; recorded via facility report 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted with experience meeting the patient ratio requirement 14. Scrubs: Navy on bottom, navy or white on top 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Overflow unit; patient ratio experience of 1:6 required; must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 ratios; charge experience required; telemetry monitoring on unit; skills include pacemakers, PICC line management, HFNC, tracheostomy management, wound vac, and more Critical: NY license must be in hand — no exceptions. Charge experience is required. Valid NIHSS certification must be included at submittal.
