- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must have 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital. First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. 2. Cases: Drips required on all floors. Required drips include Nitro, Heparin, and Insulin (non-DKA). May encounter Amiodarone, Cardizem, Argatroban, Bivalirudin, and Lasix. Call out if candidate has no drip experience. Trauma Level I experience required. Skills include MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac telemetry, and management of cardiac drips (no titration). 3. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred. Must be on file per job requirements. 4. License: Pending license accepted, but if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic charting experience required. 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour options available. Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently, including potentially to Bellevue Medical Center (16 minutes away). Float required every shift. Patient ratios: 5 days, 6 nights. Orientation: 24 hours. Weekend coverage: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period; Days: Saturday and Sunday; Nights: Friday night and Saturday night. 8. RTO: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted. RTO must be submitted with application. Additional requests after confirmation are at manager discretion. Travelers must work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving (11/24-11/26), Christmas (12/24-12/26), and New Year's (12/31-1/2). Holiday requests must be submitted with application. 9. Returning Staff: Not specified. 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted. Candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility. 11. Background: Not specified. 12. Modules: Not specified. 13. Travel Experience: Travel experience required per job qualifications. 14. Scrubs: Mandatory. RNs must wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back. Information on obtaining branded scrubs provided upon confirmation. Gray T-shirts with company logo also available in the facility store. 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Not required. 16. Special Equipment: Drip management required; see Cases section for required and potential drips. 100% nicotine-free facility. Critical: Travelers may be assigned to Nebraska Medical Center or its sister campus, Bellevue Medical Center. Preferred unit should be called out at time of submission. COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only). Parking available via permit (approx. $55/month) or daily rate ($3 for 20 hours).
