Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – Tele

Shift: Nights, 7p-7:30a, 12×3, 36 hrs per week
Weekends: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period

Duration: 13 weeks (26-week option available)

Requirements:

• Active NE RN License; pending Nebraska license accepted, but if license is not in hand at time of submission the traveler will be booked six weeks out
• 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required; must have 2 years experience in a large, urban hospital
• First-time travelers not accepted (will consider if the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level 1 Academic Medical Center)
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS

Other Details:

• Required skills: IV therapy/phlebotomy, accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care/management, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), tracheostomy care, HFNC and oxygen administration, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management/titration, PCA, telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), wound care/wound vac
• Drips required on all floors: Heparin, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio, Insulin, IVIG, etc.
• Team-Based Care Delivery Model with bedside RN, LPN, CNA; care team also includes Lead Nurses, Virtual Nurses, care techs, transport team, and paramedics. Virtual nurses handle admin tasks requiring an RN license without physical presence (admission/discharge paperwork, patient education, dual nurse sign-offs). Team nursing — ratios should be discussed
• 40-bed non-specialty med/surg unit caring for patients ages 18 and older; variety of medical and telemetry patients with acute and/or chronic illness (sepsis, respiratory, GI, endocrine, cardiac disease, COVID-19). Staff manage titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, post-bariatric procedures, high oxygen delivery systems, and end-of-life care
• Ratios: Days 1:8, Nights 1:9
• Patient age groups: Adults, Geriatrics
• Floating required — travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently within scope to meet staffing needs, including potentially to another campus
• Holiday requirement: travelers must work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)
• Mandatory gray scrubs with facility logo; details on obtaining them shared once confirmed
• Parking: permit available (approx. $55/month depending on lot) or daily rate ($3 for 20 hrs)
• 100% nicotine-free facility
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• All contracts end on Sunday; work week is Monday-Sunday
• Pre-approved time off: up to two weeks permitted (2 requests); RTO must be submitted with application; no RTO during first week of orientation; additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion
• Locals not accepted: candidate must be more than 100 miles from the facility
