- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must have 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital. First-time travelers not accepted (exception considered if traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center). Trauma Level I experience preferred. 2. Cases: Pre and post liver, kidney, pancreas, and intestinal transplant patients; intestinal rehabilitation; living kidney and liver donors; Whipples; internal med patients; trauma overflow. Frequent, extensive wound care and surgical drains. 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIH (NIHSS) and CPI preferred. Must be AHA or equivalent. Copies required at submission. 4. License: Nebraska RN State License required; pending license accepted, but if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out. Do not submit for Radiology or Respiratory with license hits. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic charting experience required. 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour weekly options available; 13 or 26-week contract options. Ratios are 1:5 days / 1:6 nights (nights can be 1:7 on rare occasions). Float required; notified 1 hour prior to shift start by call or text. Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently, including potentially to Bellevue campus. Units may include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU. Drip experience required on all floors. Required drips: Nitro, Heparin, Insulin (non-DKA). May encounter: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Argatroban, Bivalirudin, Lasix. Screen and call out if no drip experience. All contracts end on Sunday; work week is Monday-Sunday. Orientation: 24 hours. 8. RTO: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted; must be submitted with application. No RTO during first week of orientation. Additional requests after confirmation at manager's discretion. RTO Blackout Dates due to College World Series: 6/11/26-6/22/26. Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays — submit this request with application. 9. Returning Staff: Not specified. 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted; candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility. 11. Background: Do not submit for Radiology or Respiratory with license hits. 12. Pre-Start Modules: Must go into labs within 48-72 hours of accepting offer. Document due date: Tier 2 — Tuesday prior to start at 4 PM CST. 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers not accepted. Exception considered if traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. 14. Scrubs: Mandatory — RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back. Information on how to obtain branded scrubs shared upon confirmation. Facility also sells gray T-shirts in their company store. 15. Flu Vaccine: Not required. 16. Special Equipment: Overhead lift equipment in every patient room; paramedic rovers for provider support; video monitoring; patient attendants. Critical: 100% Nicotine Free Facility. COVID-19 Vaccine required (Medical/Religious Exemptions only). Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Pending Nebraska RN license accepted with conditions. Allied licensing takes up to 8 weeks.
