- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be in a large, urban hospital; first-time travelers not accepted (exception considered if traveler has 2 years at a Level I Academic Medical Center) 2. Cases: Trauma medical/surgical patients; hemodynamically and medically stable; admitted from ED, ICU transfers, or surgical/procedural services; drips required on all floors 3. Certifications: BLS required; CPI noted; all certifications must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: Pending Nebraska RN State License accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour weekly option; 13 or 26-week contract option; travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently; float notification 1 hour prior to shift start by call or text; float units may include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, SOTU, and potentially Bellevue campus; ratios 1:5 days, 1:6 nights (1:7 nights rare but possible); orientation is 24 hours; all contracts end on Sunday; work week Monday-Sunday 8. RTO: Up to two weeks permitted; must be submitted with application; no RTO during first week of orientation; additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion; RTO Blackout Dates: 6/11/26-6/22/26 (College World Series); holiday requirement: must work 2 of 3 major holidays, submit with application 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted; candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility 11. Background: Do not submit for Radiology or Respiratory with license hits 12. Modules: Must go into labs within 48-72 hours of accepting offer; document due date Tier 2 - Tuesday prior to start by 4 PM CST 13. Travel Experience: Required; previous travel experience required per VMS 14. Scrubs: Mandatory - RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back; information on obtaining branded scrubs provided upon confirmation; facility sells gray T-shirts available in company store 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Not required 16. Special Equipment: Required drips - Nitro, Heparin, Insulin (non-DKA); may encounter - Amiodarone, Cardizem, Argatroban, Bivalirudin, Lasix; screen and call out if no drip experience Critical: 100% nicotine-free facility. COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only). Charge experience preferred. Trauma Level I experience preferred. Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Days: Saturday and Sunday; Nights: Friday night and Saturday night).
