- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must have 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital; Trauma Level I experience required; first-time travelers NOT accepted (exception considered if traveler has 2 years at a Level I Academic Medical Center) 2. Cases: Telemetry, sepsis, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiac disease, COVID-19, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, post-bariatric procedures, high oxygen delivery systems, end-of-life care; drips required on all floors (Heparin, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio, Insulin, IVIG, etc.) 3. Certifications: BLS required; must be AHA or American Red Cross (standard requirement) 4. License: Nebraska RN State License required; pending license accepted, but if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour options available; 13 or 26-week contract options; Ratios Days 1:8, Nights 1:9; work week Monday-Sunday, all contracts end on Sunday; travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently (units include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, SOTU); 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Days: Saturday and Sunday; Nights: Friday night and Saturday night); travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays — submit holiday request with application 8. RTO: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted; must be submitted with application; no RTO during first week of orientation; additional requests after confirmation at manager's discretion 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted; candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility 11. Background: Do not submit for Radiology or Respiratory with license hits 12. Modules: Must go into labs within 48-72 hours of accepting offer; documents due by Tuesday prior to start at 4 PM CST (Tier 2) 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers not accepted 14. Scrubs: Mandatory — RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back; information on obtaining branded scrubs shared after confirmation; facility also sells gray T-shirts in company store 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Not required; COVID-19 vaccine required (Medical/Religious Exemptions only); 100% nicotine-free facility 16. Special Equipment: Drips (Heparin, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio, Insulin, IVIG, etc.); chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac); tracheostomy care; wound vac; high flow nasal cannula (HFNC); BiPAP/CPAP; PCA; arterial line management Critical: Team-based care delivery model in effect since January 2025 — travelers must be well versed in this model. Travelers are first to float and may float to Bellevue campus. All contracts end on Sunday.
