- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for a clinical pass 2. Cases: Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute and Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non-hematologic cancers, other benign hematology; chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome), insulin drips, heparin drips 3. Certifications: ACLS (preferred), BLS, OCN (preferred); must be AHA or American Red Cross 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license required in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting must be completed as soon as contract is signed 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Self-scheduling; float required to other MedSurg Oncology units; weekend shifts variable based on unit needs; orientation is 72 hours 8. RTO: One pre-approved time off; RTO must be submitted with submission and built into contract; candidates with vacation immediately after booking may experience delays due to fingerprinting 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more; current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet 11.
