- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission 2. Cases: COPD, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, telemetry monitoring; high acuity med-surg with occasional PCU patients; COVID-19 positive patients included 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred; must be AHA or American Red Cross (standard); must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights (18:45-07:15); 36 hours can be offered; float required to like units; every other weekend required; block scheduling available when unit needs are met; 24-hour orientation 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days for AYA auto offer; RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR 9. Must have a teamwork approach and meet Novant behavioral expectations. Vent experience preferred but not required — unit will support and train if needed. Patient ratios are 1:4-5 (up to 1:6 in extreme situations); 4 weekend shifts per 6 weeks (staffing needs may require more).
