Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission 2. Cases: COPD, PNA, Respiratory distress, Covid-19, FLU, PE; High acuity M/S patients with occasional PCU patient 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS required; NIHSS preferred; must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights; 1:4-5 ratios (up to 1:6 in extreme situations); every other weekend; float required to like units 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name/dates employed 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate; will accept first time traveler 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules 8-10 hours for Acute Care, factored into first 24 hours NBO; must be completed pre-start using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge 13. Travel Experience: Unit will accept first time traveler 14. Scrubs: Not provided; white or navy blue required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Chest tubes, drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin), vents, trachs, bipaps/cpaps Critical: Must go into lab within 48 hours after signing. Skills required include IV start, Vents, Telemetry, cpap/bipap, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.
