- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of overall acute care nursing experience required; at least 1 year of PCU experience required. Acute care experience must be current/active and worked consistently within the last 12 months. HARD STOP — do not pass without meeting this baseline requirement. 2. Cases: Primarily acute leukemia patients (newly diagnosed); heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention; high volume of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes. 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required per job requirements; ONS Chemo Cert and NIHSS listed as preferred in notes. No Chemo Certification required per unit header. 4. Shifts/Call: 12-hour Day/Night rotating; may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on department needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; float to other MedSurg Oncology units required; weekends variable based on unit needs 8. Oncology experience preferred but not required. Candidate must be actively working in acute care today — do not pass without confirming current acute care experience.
