- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Cardiac/telemetry experience and PCU and/or critical care experience required 2. Cases: Cardiac, medical, and surgical complex patients including sepsis, stroke, MI, angina, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, heart blocks, post cardiac cath, AKI, CKD, DKA, CVA, acute and chronic respiratory failure, GI bleed, pneumonia, post-op CABG day one, post-op aortic valve surgery, post thoracic surgery, post neurosurgery 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Meditech 7. Shifts/Call: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; self-scheduling within reason; schedule finalized 2 weeks in advance; block scheduling available for night shift; travel RNs float first 8. Unit performs Q6H head-to-toe assessments. Drips managed include Dopamine, Dobutrex, Nitro, Heparin, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Cardene, Labetalol, Insulin, and Precedex titration. Patient ratio is 4:1. 29-bed unit with Dayshift unit secretary and 2-3 PCTs; Nightshift has 2-3 PCTs depending on census.
