Cases: Cardiac, medical, and surgical complex patients including sepsis, stroke, MI, angina, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, heart blocks, post cardiac cath, AKI, CKD, DKA, CVA, acute and chronic respiratory failure, GI bleed, pneumonia, post-op CABG day one, post-op aortic valve surgery, post thoracic surgery, post neurosurgery 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Meditech 7. Unit performs Q6H head-to-toe assessments. Drips managed include Dopamine, Dobutrex, Nitro, Heparin, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Cardene, Labetalol, Insulin, and Precedex titration. Patient ratio is 4:1. 29-bed unit with Dayshift unit secretary and 2-3 PCTs; Nightshift has 2-3 PCTs depending on census.
