- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required for submission; first-time travelers accepted 2. Cases: Cardiac (30% of population — CHF, MI, TAVR, MVR, pacemaker, ACS, arrhythmia); Respiratory (COVID, COPD, asthma, trach, home ventilators, BIPAP, high-flow NC); Neuro overflow; Renal overflow; Complex med-surg (ETOH withdrawal, GIB) 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; must be AHA or American Red Cross; copies required at submission 4. License: AK RN License required; pending license accepted at submission but must be in hand for Auto Offer; must be able to complete AK RN license application within 48 hours of signing (including fingerprints, app fee, and application submittal) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 4x12 or 3x12 nights (traveler's choice); no on-call required; weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend based on staffing needs; traveler must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year); guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period; may be called off for 1 twelve-hour shift per 2 weeks; block scheduling not available 8. RTO: All RTO must be included at time of submission; approved on an individual basis upon offer 9. Returning Staff: Permanent staff must be separated from Providence for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler; travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year, then must take a minimum 6-month break before returning to the same facility 10.
