- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required for submission; first-time travelers accepted 2. Cases: Cardiac (30% of population) including CHF, MI, TAVR, MVR, pacemakers, ACS; respiratory including COVID, COPD, asthma, trach patients, home ventilators; neuro and renal overflow; complex medical-surgical (ETOH withdrawal, GIB, etc.) 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; must be AHA or equivalent; copies of certifications required at submission 4. License: AK RN License required; pending license accepted at submission but must be in hand for Auto Offer; must be able to complete AK RN license application within 48 hours of signing (including fingerprints, application fee, and submittal) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 4x12 or 3x12 nights (traveler's choice); no on-call required; guaranteed 60 hours per 2 weeks with allowance for 1 call-off per 2-week period; weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend; traveler must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) 8. RTO: Approved on an individual basis; all RTO must be included at time of submission; only one pre-approved RTO noted 9. Returning Staff: Permanent staff must be separated from Providence for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler; travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year, then must take a minimum 6-month break before returning to the same facility 10. Travel/Local: No locals accepted; candidate permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility; candidate may only be submitted to 1 location within the region (PAMC, Seward, Valdez, Saint Elias Specialty Hospital, and Kodiak); candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals 11.
