- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years PICU experience required; must have PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with Peds; Peds PACU experience highly preferred 2. Cases: Pediatric float pool covering PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby; diagnoses include congenital cardiac defects, respiratory disease, trauma, transplantation, neurosurgical, orthopedic, and general surgical interventions 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required; Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with it pending; cost is $185); must be AHA or American Red Cross 4. License: VA license required; can submit with VA license pending 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Days; 36 or 48 hours; block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed; 13-week assignment; every other weekend, every other holiday; orientation is 60 hours 8. RTO: Up to 40 hours approved for time off; no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment; only one pre-approved time off 9. Returning Staff: Must adhere to UVAs float policy 10.
