- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of PICU experience required; must have PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with Peds, Acute Pediatrics, and Peds ED; Peds PACU experience highly preferred 2. Cases: Float pool covering PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby; patient diagnoses include congenital cardiac defects, respiratory disease, trauma, transplantation, neurosurgical, orthopedic, and general surgical interventions 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required; Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with it pending; cost is $185); must be in hand; APHON, CPHON, OCN noted as additional certifications 4. License: VA license accepted pending at time of submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Nights; 36 or 48 hours per week; block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed; every other weekend; every other holiday; 13-week assignment 8. RTO: Up to 40 hours of time off can be approved; no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment; every other holiday 9. Returning Staff: Must adhere to UVAs float policy 10. Must have Epic experience. Infant Driven Feeding Cert required but can submit with it pending. Candidate must be comfortable floating to L&D and Mother Baby in staffing crisis situations.
