- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum PEDS Cardiac Surgery experience required; candidates with 1-2 years will be reviewed. Ideal candidate has 2-5 years in cardiac ICU. 2. Cases: Pediatric CVPICU preferred; manager open to reviewing PICU, PACU, and CVICU candidates. PICU candidates must have mixed cardiac experience; PACU candidates must have critical care and cardiac background. Candidates must have 3s and 4s in skills checklist in cardiovascular settings to be designated a SCREEN. Patient diagnoses include congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplant, higher acuity CICU, and Single Ventricle Palliation; patient age range birth to 21 years. 3. Certifications: BLS and PALS required; must be in hand. Children's hospital experience noted as required. 4. License: WA Temp, Permanent, or Compact license required by start date; pending license accepted. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic; preferred experience. 7. Shifts/Call: Day/Night rotating shifts typically on a 6-week cadence, dependent on unit need. On-call required (sign up for extra shifts). 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Float required based on census to lower level of care. Block schedule not accommodated. Guaranteed hours: Yes. 8. RTO: No RTO during first two weeks of orientation. Only pre-approved contract shifts are guaranteed off. Night shift travelers can be scheduled for the night before RTO begins. 9. Returning Staff: Not specified. 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted.
