- Unit Notes:Department: OR | RN *Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.* HOUSING: Confirm the candidate has looked into housing in the area with the submittal. Leads available. - # Suites: 2 ORs and 1 Procedure Room- endo. - Average # of cases per day: Varies, could be 0 cases could be 12. If limited cases staff to task around departments, work with supplies, can take a low census day if want to. - Required Certifications: BLS ACLS PALS - Common Cases: General, Ortho, Podiatry, Urology, OB, c-section, GYN, Pain Management, Cardiology (pacemakers, TEEs), endoscopy. Mostly Adult cases- occasional peds ortho or appys. - Experience: Must have 1 year circulating. Must have strong Ortho experience including total joints. Willing to train for endo and cardiology. Prefer: preop and PACU experience as they will float there. Ok with first time travelers. - Scrubbing required - RN's: No - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes- there is a charge. Travelers would not be in that role. - OR techs: Yes - EMR: Cerner - Shifts & Scheduling: Charge Nurse does shift scheduling. 4 x 10 hr shifts starting at 630a-5p. - Weeknight/Call Requirements: 1 weeknight/ week 5p-630 a. - Weekend/Call Requirements: 1 weekend/ month 5p Friday- 630a Monday. - Holiday/Call Requirements : Yes- call for Major holidays, rotate with core staff. - What is call response time?: 20 minutes - Floating Requirements: Preop and PACU, try not to be floated within the same shift, on a rare occasion follow a case from OR to PACU. To task around department if low case volume. - Scrub Color: Provided by the hospital, designated OR shoes. - Unit Specific Orientation: Varies, if traveler is strong in preop and PACU done in 3 days, can be up to a week, with Cerner comfort.
