- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 3 years required; first-timers not accepted. General OR and Trauma experience required. 2. Cases: All service lines except CV. Required cases include Bariatric (Laparoscopic assisted), General Surgery (Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy, Whipple), Neurology (Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion), Orthopedic (Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed/Open reduction of fractures), Plastic Surgery (Free Flap - Microvascular), Transplant (Organ donation), Urology (Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy), and Trauma (Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA). 3. Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred. AHA or American Red Cross only — RQI cards not accepted. Copies required at submission. 4. License: Active IL RN license must be in hand at submission. Exceptions noted in job description. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred. 7. Shifts/Call: 4x10s, 0645-1715. On-call required 1 per week (though less frequent in practice). 1 weekend shift per month required. No block scheduling accommodated. Client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; hours beyond that are billable. On-call in lieu of call-off counts as a called-off shift. 8. RTO: Auto-approval for 5 or fewer days of non-holiday RTO. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. RTO and start date must be confirmed accurate at submission. 9. Returning Staff: Previous perm/PRN candidates must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler. Former manager name should be noted during submission. 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted for OR RN — must live at least 50 miles from facility to apply. 11. Background: Any background check hits must be disclosed at submission so approval can be sought prior to offer. 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours. Completed pre-start, renewed annually. Non-clinical hours are fixed; clinical module hours may vary. First day is a virtual at-home day — candidates must check for additional modules. Strict deadline of 4PM CST on Day 1. Module logins assigned and sent prior to start. 13. Travel Experience: Required. 14. Scrubs: Provided by the facility for this role. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — Medical/Religious exemptions only. 16. Special Equipment: Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables. Critical: SSN and DOB required at time of submittal. Provide 2-3 interview times upon submission. Candidate must be pre-closed at time of submission. Traveler must have reviewed and secured housing and be committed to completing compliance needs (lab appointment, DocuSign, and badge photo) within a minimum of 1 week of signing the contract. References can be submitted as pending. Floating required — within hospital or to affiliate hospital. 23 OR rooms. Level I Trauma experience required. HARDSTOP — do not pass or screen candidates missing any required skills.
