- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 3 years required; first-timers not accepted 2. Cases: General OR and Trauma experience required. Required case experience includes — Bariatric: Laparoscopic assisted cases; General Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple; Neurology: Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion; Orthopedic: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed/Open reduction of fractures; Plastic Surgery: Free Flap - Microvascular; Transplant: Organ donation; Urology: Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy; Trauma: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries); Emergency Management: Code response, Fire safety, Latex Allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia. All service lines except CV. 3. Certifications: BLS required; CNOR and CST noted; must be AHA or American Red Cross (standard requirement) 4. License: Active IL license in hand or in application process required at time of submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 5x8 Nights (2245-0715), Monday-Friday; on-call required approximately 1 per week; 1 weekend shift per month required; block scheduling not accommodated; floats within skill set but rarely 8. RTO: All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by manager 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Hospital, 562 beds, 23 OR rooms. Guaranteed hours policy: client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; hours beyond that are billable. On-call shifts count as called-off shifts.
