- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 3 years required; first-timers not accepted. General OR and Trauma experience required. 2. Cases: All service lines except CV. Required cases include Bariatric (Laparoscopic assisted), General Surgery (Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple), Neurology (Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion), Orthopedic (Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed/Open reduction of fractures), Plastic Surgery (Free Flap - Microvascular), Transplant (Organ donation), Urology (Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy), Trauma (Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA). HARDSTOP — do not submit if candidate is missing any required skills. 3. Certifications: BLS required. CNOR and CST noted. AHA or American Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted. Copies required at submission. 4. License: Active IL license must be in hand at time of submission (or in application process per job description note; however compliance section states must be in hand at submission). 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred. 7. Shifts/Call: 5x8 Nights (2245-0715), Monday-Friday. On-call required approximately 1 per week. Weekend coverage: 1 per month. Float within skill set required; may float to affiliate hospital. 8. RTO: Up to 5 non-holiday days can be auto-approved. Anything beyond 5 days requires facility approval. Candidate MUST work 2 out of 3 major holidays. RTO and start date must be confirmed accurate at submission. 9. Returning Staff: Previous Perm/PRN candidates must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler. 10. Travel/Local: Locals NOT accepted for OR RN — must live at least 50 miles from facility to apply. 11. Background: Any background check hits must be noted upon submission so approval can be sought prior to offer. 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours. Completed pre-start, renewed annually. Non-clinical hours are fixed; clinical module hours may vary. First day is a virtual at-home day; candidates must check for additional modules. Strict deadline of 4PM CST on Day 1. Logins assigned and sent prior to start. 13. Travel Experience: Required. 14. Scrubs: Provided by the facility for this role. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — Medical/Religious Exemptions Only. 16. Special Equipment: Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables. Critical: Traveler must be PRE-CLOSED at time of submission. SSN and DOB required at submission. Provide 2-3 interview times upon submission. Lab appointment, DocuSigns, and Badge Photo must be completed within a minimum of 1 week of signing the contract. References can be submitted as pending.
