- Unit Notes:Department: Med Surg | Med-Tele Peds - # Beds: 17 beds, the combination of MS Tele and Peds on unit. - Nurse: Patient Ratios: Tele 1:4 Peds 1:4 MS 1:4-5. - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (PALS preference). - Common d/iagnoses: CHF, Pneumonia, COPD, Afib, BBB, Pneumonia, RSV, Dehydration, post op surgical patients (peds and adult). - Experience: Similar facility size experience. - Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes per policy. - Common titratable: Cardiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone. - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: No. RN read their own tele strips. Mindray monitors. - Charge Nurse: ER Charge Nurse, does not take an assignment as they are responsible for all ER/MS patients. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes 1:8 - RT Equipment: Cpap, Bipap, High Flow. - Shifts & Scheduling: Self Scheduling, 7-7 manager to balance, consider block scheduling on a case-to-case basis. - Weekend Requirement: Every other, potentially every third weekend. - Holiday Requirement: Every other. - Is there Call or a Standby requirement: Could be placed on call for low census on additional shifts. - Floating Requirements: Tasking in ER- extra hands and IV starts. - Scrub Color: Any color/pattern scrubs ok. Closed toe shoes. - Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 day and 1 night shift on the unit.
