- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of OR RN experience required; Level 1 Trauma experience preferred 2. Cases: Must have experience with Ophthalmology and Liver Transplant (hard stop); Must have experience with at least 2 of the following: Neuro, Ortho, or Robotics (hard stop); Preferred: ENT, GU, Plastics, Burns; Additional surgical specialties include General, Robotic, Laparoscopic, Trauma, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Spinal, Urology, GYN, and Transplant 3. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting must be completed as soon as contract is signed 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Variable shift — days/evenings, 8s, 10s, or 12s; Call required M-F 2100-0630; Saturday and Sunday 0630-1900 and 1900-0630; Holiday/weekend coverage may be required; 3 weekend shifts per 13-week contract as needed; Float to different units within OSU organization as needed 8. RTO: RTO must be submitted with submission and built into contract; only one pre-approved time off; screen for vacation time immediately after booking due to fingerprinting delay risk 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility; current OSU employees ineligible for traveler assignment at any OSU hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon contract signing; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions; candidates unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push/cancel; out-of-state candidates within driving distance must drive to Ohio fingerprinting location; candidates far from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently 12.
