- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of NICU Level 4 experience required; strong Level 3 surgical NICU experience may be considered if the Level 3 is a surgery center performing surgeries on newborns; must be mentioned in submittal 2. Cases: High acuity surgical NICU; experience required in HIE/Cooling, CDH, NEC, respiratory distress/failure, gastroschisis, omphaloceles, abdominal surgeries, myelomeningoceles, fresh trachs, g-tubes, and post-op care; cardiac experience required 3. Certifications: BLS and Advanced NRP required; PALS preferred; must be AHA or equivalent 4. License: CA RN License required; pending license accepted if ETA from licensing is confirmed before start date 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 variable days/nights or straight nights; must work 2 of the following 3 holidays (including Eves): Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's; no on-call required; no block scheduling; must be flexible to work weekends when scheduled; floating required within scope to PICU, CVICU, Med Surg, and satellite NICU campuses (Rancho Springs, Palomar, Scripps Encinitas, Scripps La Jolla, Scripps Mercy, Scripps Hillcrest); travelers will not be assigned patients over 2 years old; mileage reimbursed from home base to satellite locations; must have own transportation 8.
