Cases: Neonates 29-34 weeks, Neonates >34 weeks, Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), Placement/Management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Neonatal Sepsis, Sepsis Work Up, IV therapy, Administration of blood & blood products, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Starting and maintaining IVs, Antibiotics/Antivirals, Anti-Seizure Medications, Neonatal Dosage Calculations, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, RDS, Hyperbilirubinemia 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, NRP Advanced required; must be AHA or American Red Cross (standard requirement) 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: Every other weekend required; approximately 16 weekend shifts per contract; 1:3 patient ratio; floating required to a stepdown NICU unit; orientation is 12 hours 8. Special Equipment: CPAPs, HFNC, RAM cannula; unit also utilizes Bubble CPAP, Arterial line management, Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), UAC, UVC, VP Shunts, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Surfactants, Oxygen Delivery Systems, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Critical: NICU II and NICU III skills required. Telemetry monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, Hyperbilirubinemia/Phototherapy, and Breastfeeding Support/Breast Milk Handling are required skills. Community Hospital experience preferred. Patient age group is Neonates only. Daily census is 29; unit has 28 rooms and 36 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary.
