- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 3 years required in level 3 or 4 ICN/NICU 2. Cases: Premature infants (as low as 22 weeks), surgical infants, hypoxic injury 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP required 4. License: NC or Compact license (pending OK for submittal) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights 18:45-07:15, 36 hours only, no call required 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays), must work 2 of 3 major holidays, no RTO during first week, cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name/dates employed 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates (50 miles) accepted at lower rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules factored into first 24 hours of NBO; Acute Care 8-10 hours, Non-Acute 4-5 hours; completed online using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge 13. Travel Experience: Unit will accept first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Navy blue or white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Alaris IV pumps, Med Fusion for feedings, Servo Vents, HFOV, Baby Leo, Giraffe Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Float required to peds/PICU/nursery caring for infants up to 12 months. Patient ratios 1:2-4. Weekend requirement: 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays in 6-week period.
