- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of experience required; 1st time traveler accepted 2. Cases: General medical-surgical; chemotherapy/biotherapy administration (IV, PO, or injection); patient diagnoses include AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips 3. Certifications: BLS required; ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration preferred but not required at submission; travelers must be willing to obtain prior to or during assignment; facility provides onsite training; cost is $130 (to be included in margin); preferred: CPI, OCN 4. License: Not specified 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic; also uses PYXIS and SBAR 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 nights; every other weekend required; call required if called off on a prescheduled shift; floating required to similar units and alternate care locations including inpatient holding in the ED; contract staff assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster; attendance at monthly staff meetings required; make-up shifts required for called-out shifts; must pass EKG Testing prior to start 8. RTO: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs or additional RTO could result in cancellation and DNR; one pre-approved RTO noted 9. Special Equipment: Facility and manager willing to train on oncology/chemo and assist with certification if needed; skills required include Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Surgical drains, Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), Wound Care/Wound Vac, Non-invasive airway management Critical: Charge nurse experience and OCN preferred. Target ratio is 1:6; census may increase. 13-26 week contracts accepted.
