- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required (job description states 18 months exp. required with unit-specific exceptions) 2. Cases: Ortho RN or MS RNs with good Ortho experience; orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacement hips, knees, shoulders, spine surgeries, trauma patients needing orthopedic surgical interventions, osteomyelitis and other infections 3. Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred; AHA and Red Cross only - RQI cards not accepted 4. License: Must have active IL license in hand at submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s Nights (1845-0645); no on-call required; will work every third weekend 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days of non-holiday RTO or less; anything more requires facility approval; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any PERM or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted with no radius (Exception: OR RNs must be 50 miles or more from facility) 11. Background: Background policy must be noted prior to submission to seek approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours, after 16 hours billable; completed pre-start then annually; sent Friday before start, must be completed by 4pm CST on first day; strict deadlines enforced 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel experience preferred 14. Scrubs: Any solid color 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Slings, walkers, canes, traction, casts, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, syringe pumps, hospital beds, PAS boot machines, vital sign monitors, vein finder Critical: Floating 100% required to other med surg departments or affiliate hospitals. Telemetry experience preferred. Required IV therapy skills: PICC Line Management, Starting IVs. SSN and DOB required at submittal. Lab appointment, Docusigns and Badge Photo must be completed within minimum 1 week of signing contract.
