- Unit Notes:ASANTE ITEMS OF NOTE: - Local Radius: Client does not accept local candidates and has a 50-mile radius restriction. - Call Off Policy: Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13 weeks. - Non-Billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours of non-billable orientation for first work week. Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation. - Licensure: Non-Oregon Licensed RNs can apply and be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if their permanent license is not posted before the start of their assignment. Department: MedSurg Post Surgical | RN - # Beds: 38 (4 are semi private). - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5, both dayshift and nightshift. - Required certifications: BLS. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Post surgical- general, urology, abdominal, amputations, trauma, ENT, bariatrics (travelers don't take), everything except cardiac, ortho, or neuro. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Prefer candidates experienced with; chest tubes, central lines, heparin drips, NG, JP drains, wound vacs and dressing changes. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Titratable Heparin, and set rate Amiodarone, Cardizem would be most common. - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Remote tele, monitored by a tele tech on a separate unit. May have titratable cardizem. Nurses should have a basic understanding of strip interpretation, lethal rhythms etc. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge nurse 24/7. Day/night shift charge nurse doesn t take a patient assignment. House Supervisor and critical care outreach RN on 24/7. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes; ratios: CNA ratio: 1-7 on days; 1-11 on nocs - RT Equipment: No vents, cpap at night for maintenance. - Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts: 0645-1915 & 1845-0715. Asante does NOT accommodate any scheduling requests for travelers. Travelers are utilized to fill holes in the schedule. NO block scheduling. - Weekend Requirement: No specific weekend requirement, depends on the needs of the department. Possibly every other weekend, potentially more. Flexible scheduling if the needs of the department are met. - Holiday Requirement: No specific requirement, possibly rotate in with core staff. - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: If the RN is not needed they will be placed on standby and could be called in at any time during the shift. - Floating Requirements?: Travelers are first to float within skill set. Could potentially float to other med surg units, ICU as a resource, ER for holds or to various units as a sitter. - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Any colored professional scrubs. No tattoos above shoulders can be shown and the only facial piercing allowed is a nose stud. A natural hair color- no pink, blue etc. - Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 - 12 hour shifts. - Additional Notes: Hourly rounding, participating in bedside report, and positive attitude are of high importance. Cancellation Policy:24 hours/13 weeks; Client can give 2 weeks notice.
