- Unit Notes:50 mile radius rule cannot have worked perm or PRN at CSH within the last 12 months NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT Unit Cost Center: 6000 ED/MedSurg Swing # of beds 22 Ratios 1 to 4 acute, 1 to 6 Swing bed, ED is 1 to 4 Required Certifications BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Common diagnoses/Types of patients any Experience or 'Must have' skills One year of MedSurg and ED experience; must have charge experience- clinician may work charge Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips normal Charge Nurse/House Supervisor charge nurse Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) NEBS, O2 nasal and mask, we do have a Vent but only used in the ED and used in transport to another facility, we may have Cpaps, if a swing bed patient bring it in, Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? RN read stripes (ED nurse), yes tele Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour days and noc 7a-7p and 7p-7a Weekend Requirement every other Holiday Requirement every other Is there a call or standby requirement? flex time Floating Requirements will float to ED; may also work charge Scrub Color/Dress Code any color Unit/Department specific orientation there will be orientation to the unit, it is one unit.
