- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required; 18 months if not listed otherwise. First-timers not accepted. Med/Surg experience required. Teaching Hospital experience preferred. Trauma Level II experience preferred. 2. Cases: CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain Injury, Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Chest tubes, Continuous Bladder Irrigation, Surgical drains, Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery, Tracheostomy Management, CPAP/BiPAP, Telemetry remote monitoring, Rapid Response Teams, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Heparin, Insulin, PCA, Blood Product Administration, Accessing Ports, PICC line management, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting IVs, Isolation Precautions. 3. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required. OCN listed. All certs must be AHA or American Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted. Copies required at submission. 4. License: Active IL license required and must be in hand at time of submission. No exceptions noted for this role. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Cerner experience required. 7. Shifts/Call: 4x12 or 3x12 Nights (1800-0630). No on-call required. Will float as needed within hospital or to affiliate hospital. Every other weekend required. 8. RTO: Ideally no more than 5 days; up to 5 non-holiday days auto-approved. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Only one pre-approved RTO noted in system. 9. Returning Staff: Previous perm or PRN candidates must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler. Former manager name should be included if applicable. 10. Travel/Local: No radius requirement; locals accepted. Exception: OR RN specialty requires 50 miles or more (does not apply to this role). 11. Background: Any background check hits must be disclosed at time of submission so approval can be sought prior to offer. 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours. Completed pre-start, renewed annually. Non-clinical hours are fixed; clinical module hours may vary. First day is a virtual at-home day; candidates must check for additional modules. Strict deadline of 4PM CST on Day 1. Module logins assigned and sent prior to start. 13. Travel Experience: Travel experience required per job requirements. 14. Scrubs: Royal blue. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — Medical/Religious Exemptions Only. 16. Special Equipment: Not specified. Critical: SSN and DOB required at time of submittal. Must provide 2-3 interview times upon submission. Traveler must be pre-closed at time of submission and confirm housing. Compliance (lab appointment, DocuSigns, badge photo) must be completed within 1 week of signing the contract. References can be submitted as pending. Guaranteed hours policy: client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; hours cancelled beyond that are billable. Orientation is 24 hours.
