- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 1.5 years in a Level 1 or 2 preferred 2. Cases: Orthopedic focus — traumatic hip fractures, elective spine surgeries, traumatic orthopedic injuries; pre/post-surgical care; med surg overflow; strong Ortho checklist preferred 3. Certifications: BLS required; NIHSS required (NIH stroke certified upon contract start or willing to complete NIH stroke Healthstream); must pass online EKG competency course within 72 hours of signing; all certs must be AHA or American Red Cross 4. License: Any active state RN license or compact license accepted; candidates with past license disciplinary action will not be accepted; Nursys report required at submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required for all inpatient nursing roles 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour contracts available; OT paid after 48 hours on 48-hour contracts; must be available to work every other weekend and holiday; travelers are first to float per hospital policy; may float within hospital or to another Premier hospital nearby; no float restrictions or special requests accepted 8. RTO: Must be submitted with initial application; no RTO added after offer; maximum 14 days allowed per contract; RTO approval at manager's discretion; only one pre-approved RTO noted in system 9. Returning Staff: Any prior perm/PRN staff or agency traveler not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before applying; must disclose prior employment (facility, unit, dates) in submission packet; facility rehire approval required before any offer can proceed; failure to disclose may result in cancellation 10. Travel/Local: 50-mile local radius for nursing; local travelers not accepted 11. Background: Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted 12.
