- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of med/surg experience required; stepdown/PCU experience also required as nurses may float to PCU unit 2. Cases: General surgical and orthopedic with medical overflow; diagnoses include TKA, THA, TSA, TPLIF, lumbar lami/fusion, ORIF, I&D, SBO, lower GI bleed, colectomy, hemi-colectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, SOB, chest pain, pneumonia, DVT, PE 3. Certifications: BCLS/BLS required; must be AHA or American Red Cross (standard requirement) 4. License: Must already be SC licensed; facility will not accept any license hits 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Meditech; charting system experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Weekdays, every other weekend, float, holidays as needed; self-scheduling; 6 weekends per contract (patterned); night ratio is 6:1; orientation is 24 hours 8. RTO: Not specified 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Cannot live within 50 miles of facility; locals not accepted 11. Background: Facility will not accept any background hits or DUIs 12.
