- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of med surg experience required; stepdown/PCU experience also required as MS nurses will float to PCU unit as needed 2. Cases: General surgical and orthopedic with medical overflow; diagnoses include TKA, THA, TSA, spinal fusions, ORIF, bowel procedures, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, SOB, chest pain, pneumonia, DVT, PE 3. Certifications: BLS required; AHA only; copies required at submission 4. License: Valid SC license required at time of submission; facility will not accept any license hits 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Meditech experience preferred but not required (exception: Meditech required for RRT) 7. Shifts/Call: Weekdays, every other weekend, float, holidays as needed; 6 weekends per contract (patterned); night ratio is 6:1; self-scheduling; 24 orientation hours 8. RTO: Must be approved prior to assignment start; minimal to no RTO; any RTO not on submittal and not discussed in interview will not be approved; preferably no RTO in first weeks of assignment 9. Returning Staff: Must have been gone 1 year and must have been in good standing at time of departure 10. Travel/Local: 50-mile radius; locals NOT accepted; candidate must live more than 50 miles from facility 11. Background: Facility will not accept any background hits or DUIs 12. Modules: Average 8 hours; non-billable; completed pre-start; hours factored into NBO; self-reported 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted; travel experience preferred 14. Scrubs: Not provided by hospital; royal blue/white required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed 16. Special Equipment: Bucks Traction, CPM, Epidural, PCA, ETCO2, SCD, CPAP, suction, specialty beds Critical: Candidate must be comfortable with high patient-to-care ratios and frequent floating. References not required at submission but will be required during compliance. COVID-19 vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed.
