- Unit Notes:- Unit: Labor and Deliver - # L&D Beds: 10 beds - 2 OR's in L&D - # triage beds: 2 beds - # Postpartum beds: 18 beds - Requirements: 2 years of prior experience in L&D, prefers travel experience - # births per day, per year: 130 births per month - Certs: BLS, NRP, ACLS, Adv-AWHONN - Ratios: 1:1 close to delivery, 1:2 otherwise, 1:4 couplets on postpart - FHM System: Obix fetal monitoring - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Yes- shared between L&D and PP - Nurse Aides/OB tech: Scrub techs on L& D, otherwise none - Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts in a 4 week period - Call Requirement: None on either - Holidays: 1 Major, 1 Minor. Major RN holidays: Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Yrs. Major Tech holidays: Christmas and New Years - Scrub Color: Provided - Tele: None-will tx out - Vents: None - OB/Neonataologist in house: None-currently working on it - IV Team: None - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Shifts: 12 hr shifts- 7a, 11a, and 7p - C-section experience required: Yes- scrub, recovery, and circulate experience required for L&D - Floating: PP-no unless NICU background for feeder/grower, L&D to postpartum. Typically don't work interchangably - Floor specific orientation: 3 Shifts - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Deliver down to 23 wks, some high risk- Antepartum, HTN , plan to tx out if known cardiac abnormality. Have perinatology support - Additional Notes: L& D is biggest need.
