- Unit Notes:Prescreen and then manager will review/interview (all travelers need to do prescreen and profile review) **** PLEASE READ: Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting an offer (with 2 max attempts). They must pass with a score of 80% and if they fail, they will be a DNU for Commonspirit AZ and Commonspirit Sacramento, for 6 months. Please ensure your traveler is aware and comfortable with dysrhthmia prior to submitting. Travelers will take a pass/fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation. Study guides will be provided with FDI's. **MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH C-SECTIONS AND MUST HAVE COMPUTER CHARTING EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY CERNER** Unit: Labor and Delivery # beds: 18 LDRP s, 14 bed OB triage, 8 bed Antepartum Average deliveries: 8-10/day; 322-344/month; 3863/year # OR suites on the unit for C-sections: 2 fully equipped ORs Certs: ACLS, BLS and NRP Ratios: Unit attempts to follow AWHONN guidelines & ratios and are staffing up to meet the AWHONN standards, but at this time it is not everyday. But assignments are safe. Nurse to pt ratios are mostly 2:1 depending on acuity, AntePartum can be 4:1, c-sections 1:1 EMR: Cerner EFM System: Fetal LInk Charge Nurse: I have 13 charge nurses Nurse Aides: No Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule Call or standby required?: No, it is voluntary Holidays: Would love coverage on Holiday s if you require it Scrub Color: Blue Tele: No Vents: No Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: OB Hospitalist in house IV Team: Yes if needed RT 24/7: Yes Anesthesia in house 24/7?: Yes RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Yes, RT covers this Pharmacy 24/7: Yes Shifts: Nights 1900-0700 Floating: to MB/PP when needed Floor specific orientation: 1 week Required to titrate drips? Yes, they will titrate Pitocin as per the protocol and Magnesium Sulfate as per the protocol Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Laboring or preterm pregnant patients Additional Notes: We are a level II EQ so we take gestations 28 weeks and greater. We are also a Level 1 Trauma Center. Travelers must be able to confidently circulate and recover c-sections. Scrub is not necessary. Patients are transferred to PP after delivery.
